This week 28th March 2017

This Week 28.4.2017

www.diffcal.co.uk

First off. We are closed this bank holiday Monday. Open Saturday and Sunday as normal.

A few new toys in this week!

The Air Arms Galahad is now on our hire wall for anyone to try out on the shooting range.Image result for air arms galahad
Featuring an unusual cocking lever, it's bullpup design is very different to other air rifles on the market.

There's been a lot of shooting around the chicken coops this week with over 20 rats being taken out... our new cockeral 'Buddy' looks very pleased.
In fact we have too many at the moment... if anyone would like a cockeral (as a pet and not for eating..they are too stringy for that anyway) let us know.

For the kids... we have a couple of classics back in stock.

The Crosman Pumpmaster comes in pink or black and is ideal for the younger shooter. (cheap as well).

We also have some full size break barrels in stock at only £69.99. Whilst the camo pattern might not be to everyones taste, at this price you can't be to fussy! In .22 this basic B2 air rifle from SMK does the job.

On the range... It's getting busy now especially at weekends. Always an idea to book ahead if you can. Our number is 01462 674861

We also have restocked our pistols this week, with the classic Crosman 2240 back in.
No automatic alt text available.

CO2 powered single shot. At only £96!

The leaderboard will be cleared on Sunday.... last chance to get on there for this month. You now need 237 out of 250 to beat Stuart!

New Airguns in stock

New Airguns in stock

We have had a few parcels arrive this morning!

This is the B2 from SMK in camo. Not the most hi-tech gun out there but at only £69.99 it's going to be suitable for beginners and those that want a cheap break barrel back-up.

Going to the more expensive end of the airgun market, the FX Impact has finally come back in stock. We have the silver version on the hire wall, priced at £1620.

Pistols are gaining traction as well, we have re-stocked ready for the better weather!
The Crosman Snubnose revolver is back in stock which a lot of people have been asking for. This is only £134.

The Colt Single Action Army Peacemakers are also now back in, and these are from £170

This week 21.4.2017

Easter Week 21.4.2017

www.diffcal.co.uk

Our team have been out and about over Easter..... Ratting and rabbiting at various locations..

Our new cockeral 'Buddy' is getting big!
Whilst they don't mind a rat fight, it's better to shoot them.... of course we had a number of visitors to the coops disrupting our shoot.... see below!
The local wild peacock decided to come and see what was going on... not sure what he makes of the rats but he likes to display himself to the hens.

Not a rat. This is our neighbour's cat. He likes to see what's going on. Identify your targets before taking that shot!

New in the shop this week is the FX Impact.
It's on our hire wall, so come and have a go with it.
Meanwhile, Stuart takes first place on the leaderboard this week. Slowly creeping up to the maximum of 250!
No automatic alt text available.
This is our informal competition, open to all.

Sniper Gnome has been out in the rabbit field.
Since the Air-fective team tuned up his BSA Superten he has been getting some really good shots at fairly long ranges.
We don't waste anything that we shoot if possible. Bunny burgers are to be made. Dog was very excited so we let him eat some of it.... bit worrying what will come out of him later though.

This week 7/4/2017

www.diffcal.co.uk

As the Easter holidays are now upon us, we have had quite lot of family groups down to have a go. Our Wednesday competition has had a lot of interest. All ages welcome to take part. We have loads of junior airguns in stock at the moment, from the Bear Grylls spring guns, up to BSA's newest precharged the JSR.
The Bear Grylls springers are a bit cheaper from £114.99!

Our new IPAS pistol area is now open.
This one is very different with smoke machines and lasers! Good fun

Rev has finally been knocked off the top spot on the leaderboard... Well done Richard, keep pushing for the maximum of 250! Plenty of spots left on the board.

We are just starting to promote our involvement with the "This Girl Can" campaign. Women tend to be better shots than the men anyway... come and have go.

We are open all over the Easter holidays, normal opening hours. Come and play!

Hatsan Sniper Edge review

www.diffcal.co.uk

Also known as the the Striker.... different regions seem to have different names. Also the U.K. version has the same sound moderator as the Breaker 900x and not the more streamlined one you get in the U.S.

This synthetic stocked air rifle from Hatsan has been available in the U.K. for a while now. Having been quite impressed with the 'Breaker 900x' we thought we would do a review on this version being imported in by Edgar Brothers.

The sound moderator on it is fairly effective. You are always going to get noise with a spring gun, and the stirker is no exception. It is fairly chunky compared with some and does make the gun feel a bit front heavy, but it doesn't interfere with the overall feel and it's actually a good grip for when cocking the gun.

The thumbhole style stock grip is comfortable and allows even the biggest hands to fit through, somthing not all stocks like this allow for (no issues here though!)
The rifle is ambidextrous, our left handed shooters are quite happy with it!

Without the scope, you can use the 'tru-glo' sights. These are the same as on the Breaker 900x and are now being used in a number of manufacturers guns.

Cocking the rifle is easy enough, though younger shooters will find it an effort, they do ease up over time!

The models we use are in .22 calibre. I have been using one out of the tractor to shoot squirrels.... it's effective range so far is around 40 yards which is more than enough for me.

Accuracy is on par with other spring rifles. Don't expect to win any medals but its fine for pest control and short range target practice. We have a BSA special 22 scope mounted on our shop model but it will take most scopes with standard mounts.
